Our employees are what truly make Northwestern Bank a great organization and place to work. We have some amazing people with different backgrounds and personalities who have a real passion for what they do: helping Northwest Iowans reach their financial goals. So, what better way than to spotlight an NWB employee each month?

Meet Chad Hofmeyer

How did you first find a job with Northwestern Bank?

My dad had told me that Northwestern Bank was looking for an ag loan officer.  I had actually just started working at a bank in Sioux Center, but wanted to come back to Orange City.  I called Pres. Heller and we started the interview process.

What was a pivotal moment in your career?

Being hired by Northwestern Bank allowed me to work with and learn from a great group of people.

What is your favorite part of the job?

Working with the Northwestern Bank customers and helping them achieve their goals.  I also really enjoy the people that I work with.

What is Northwestern Bank's strongest quality?

Northwestern has a knowledgeable staff that can help customers with their personal, commercial and agricultural needs.  They also have the experience to help guide customers to the right banking products that meet their needs.

What is your favorite part about NW Iowa?

The people and community. It was a great place for me to grow up and I’m happy to be able to raise my kids here as well.

Are you from here/Have you lived in other places?

I grew up on a farm south of Orange City. Paige and I lived in Alton our first year of marriage and then Hospers for six years after that. My parents decided to move to town six years ago and that’s when we moved out to the family farm.

What do you like to do for fun?

I enjoy fishing, riding 4-wheeler and side by side, taking our dogs to the pond, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, coaching my boys in sports and playing games with my family.

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?

I plowed up my corn field to build a baseball field to “ease his pain.”  I then went to Boston to talk to a writer named Terrance Mann who told me that people will come to my field.

…Just kidding! That’s just Chad’s humorous side!
